types of weaves
Traditional 7-step pattern woven using holes around the seat frame. Check for loops and knots visible on the underside of the seat. Hand cane is priced at $4 per hole.
Sheet cane is "pressed" into a groove that runs around the seat frame and is held in place with a reed spline and glue. Pressed cane is $135 for
a standard size seat.
Material is woven continuously around the seat rails and creates
a triangle pattern. Rush is $12-14
per inch measured on the longest dimension.
